Education in Africa
Working with universities on education programs and practice-oriented research is an important part of GfK Vereins (now: now: Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions) mission of the advancement of market research and the transfer of state-of-the-art knowledge. The emerging markets are playing a special role in this mission, as many countries have very limited formal education in Market Research and at the same time they are leapfrogging the technology we have in the West.
In Africa the education programs are currently focused on emerging markets. The objective is to support local capacity-building, and ensure that students are exposed market research theory, methods and practical project experience. Some of the lectures are held by our international faculty, which provides students the opportunity to gain insights from both industry and academia with a global perspective.
